Dawe & Christopherson

Jim Dawe is a founder of Dawe & Christopherson. Prior to establishing Dawe & Christopherson, Jim was a partner of Greene Radovsky Maloney Share & Hennigh and a director (partner) of Crosby, Heafey, Roach & May.  Jim was a principal in his own firm beginning in 1986.  Before opening his own practice, Jim was General Counsel to two large public corporations based in San Francisco.

Jim’s practice focuses on Corporate and Commercial Law, International Financial and Commercial Transactions, and Intellectual Property.  He has extensive experience in the representation of mid-to-large-sized corporate entities in matters of governance, control, and structure.  In transactions, Jim is an expert in equipment leasing and finance, both domestic and international, with an emphasis on transportation equipment, as well as other financing transactions.  He has represented both lessors and lessees in commercial and corporate aviation equipment transactions.  He has also been very active in transactions involving ocean cargo containers.  In one recent transaction, Jim represented the European seller of a recreational submarine.  He has also represented the British buyer of a World War II fighter airplane.

Jim has represented both American and European clients in transactions on both sides of the Atlantic.  Jim was Vice President and President and a Director of World Link for Law, a leading and growing legal network of over seventy international law firms, with members on five continents.

Jim represents other clients in a wide variety of corporate and commercial transactions involving trademarks, mergers and acquisitions, and the formation of limited liability entities and their financing.

Education

Jim Dawe is a graduate of the University of San Francisco, A.B., 1965, and J.D., 1968.  In 1991-92, he was a visiting Fellow at St. Antony’s College, Oxford University, studying European integration.
